Tonight was such a special night for us. We were able to celebrate Mother’s Day and have a little “pre-baby date night” on the Spirit of Norfolk! This is something I have always wanted to do and it was everything I imagined it would be and more! I am excited to tell you about the fun evening we had plus BIG NEWS! The Spirit of Norfolk has provided me with two tickets to give away for a Mother/Daughter Princess cruise for one lucky reader!!
We boarded our specialty cruise for Mother’s Day at 5:30 PM and were treated like royalty the entire evening by everyone on staff. I cannot say enough about the staff – they were wonderful. Every time I passed a staff person they wished me a Happy Mother’s Day. They were so friendly and accommodating. The service was absolutely awesome!
Our waiter was amazing! He introduced himself when we first boarded and were seated at our table. He explained how the evening would go starting with a salad buffet and then a dinner buffet. He took our drink order and I have to say, our table was a huge fan of the virgin Pina Coladas! Yummmm!
Our waiter was super fast about bringing out anything we needed even with other tables to serve and he was friendly and happy the entire time- we loved him! He even noticed that we went to the top deck during dessert so he brought our dessert up to us. That’s amazing service, ya’ll!
We couldn’t leave without a picture with our waiter:
The salad bar was delicious and then came the dinner buffet! The food was amazing! We had chicken, salmon, baked ziti, roast broccoli, and more! It was delicious.
I didn’t eat like I was eating for two….I ate like I was eating for 3 or 4. It was so good!
After dinner, the professional D.J. broke open the dance floor with a mother/child dance which was cute. Then the dance floor opened and we all had a blast dancing! It was also fun because they had contests going like “how many M&M’s in the bottle” and other ways to win souvenirs and more cruise tickets.
While we let our stomach’s settle from dinner, we went to explore the top deck. It was the most beautiful night for a dinner cruise. We got to see the sunset on the top deck and my hubby pointed out landmarks that we could see from the ship. It was a lot of fun! They had couches, tables, and a bar to sit at while you took in the sights of Norfolk and the Elizabeth river. It was really neat!
We stayed on the top deck for a little while and then headed back to our table to eat our dessert. Our waiter brought us a plate of sweet deliciousness. Again, everything tasted great, especially the chocolate raspberry desserts and lemon desserts. This plate didn’t last too long before it was eaten- everything was so delicious!
The rest of the night we spent talking, laughing, dancing and just enjoying the outstanding dinner cruise! We truly had an amazing time! I highly suggest it to you if you have never been. It is worth the experience. We loved it!
Now, for some even greater news! The Spirit of Norfolk has provided me with 2 tickets to give away to their “Meet Your Princess” Lunch Cruise on August 16th.
