Well Maggie and I have been to two Little Gym classes and I am here to tell you that we are hook, line, and sinker. The Little Gym is Fabulous with a CAPITAL “F”!! We absolutely love it! There is so much to do and learn! They teach the parents and the children various skills that we can work on through the week. They also do tumbling, parachutes, air track, bubbles, and more! It is a blast, y’all! You have to check it out!
So here is how our classes have gone so far…..
You come into your class and sit down with your child in a big circle. The teacher then has everyone say their name and the child’s name and then the kids can go and give the teacher a high-five. Let me just start by saying this…we have had two different teachers and they were both SO wonderful with the kids. Maggie decided during her first class that she was going to act her age- TWO! I was so embarrassed because she was being whiny, dramatic, cranky, all of the above, but our teacher was so nice to her and encouraged me as well. If your child doesn’t want to sit during circle time, they don’t mind. They constantly remind us that we have toddlers and it is okay if they don’t sit still!
So of course, Maggie is up exploring this gym during circle time along with some of the other adventurous two-year olds.
After that they play a fun song where we run, skip, gallop, and jump in a circle with our kids. This would be Maggie’s favorite part. She has the biggest smile on her face when we run around the circle and says, “nunnin’, nunnin’, nunnin'” (runnin’) the whole time. The cuteness is overwhelming!
After the running song, each week we have done a different activity. The first week we did the parachute!
After this fun activity they do “exploring time” where the kids can explore the little gym and play on the mats, rings, balance beams, and bars. There are so many fun things for the kids to do! These are some of the fun things Maggie did during “exploring” time.
At the end of our class we sit in circle time again and review the skills we learned. Then we do bubble time and the kids are dismissed to go into the lobby to get a stamp, which they like on both of their hands, feet, and bellies!
Maggie is part of the Beasts class at the Chesapeake Little Gym, but there is also another location in Virginia Beach. I have been to that location as well a few years ago when I babysat and the staff there was awesome as well! There are several various classes to choose from for kids ages four months to 12 years old.
I hope you try out this awesome program! You and your children will have so much fun!
Disclosure: I am attending classes at no cost to do a review on The Little Gym.
